Short-pulse Electron Linac FLUTE
A wide-range tool for short-pulse beam dynamics and bio-medicine
The linear accelerator FLUTE at KIT provides femtosecond electron bunches with energies up to 50 MeV. It can generate intense ultrashort pulses of coherent radiation spanning the terahertz and far-infrared spectral range and beyond. FLUTE hosts a variety of different experiments with electrons and photons. Ongoing activities include the development of detector, magnet, and accelerator technologies for biomedical applications.
